Police in Blackburn are rolling out a brand new campaign which will target parents parked outside schools illegally.
The Force said they will be looking specifically for those who park on the 'zig-zags' outside schools, which are supposed to warn motorists to stay clear.
Penalty tickets will be issued as part of the campaign.
Police say they hope the crack-down will encourage parents to park in safer places which are inside the law.
Officers will also be issuing warnings to anyone parked dangerously.
A spokesperson for the Police said: "Parents who park on zigzag lines outside schools are putting children’s lives at risk and we will be taking action against those who continue to break the law.
"Road safety remains a priority for the police and we will continue to do all we can to reduce road casualties."
