Lorries thundering through a small village in Lancashire are putting pedestrian's and driver's lives at risk, claim residents.
Locals from Rufford have now appealed to the council to tackle the problem.
Resident John Bradshaw said: "The road carries high volumes of traffic from speeding cars to HGVs and buses and coaches.
"It is a daily occurrence to see all these vehicles using both pavements to pass each other.
"As the pavements, like the road, are very narrow, pedestrians have to step out of the way when confronted by these levethians."
Lancashire County Council have ensured residents that the situation will be investigated in light of the concerns raised.
A spokesperson for the council said, "There have been no recorded injury accidents in the last five years. However, as concerns have been raised, we will carry out a traffic volume and speed count to get a picture of how the road is being used."
